Research Institute for Industrial Crops The Research Institute for Industrial Crops (ISCI) is part of the Agriculture Research Council (CRA), the research network of Italian Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
The research activity of the Institute is aimed to increase yield stability, quality, and processing potential of the main industrial crops, such as sugar beet, potato, tomato, rapeseed, sunflower, soybean but also hemp, flax, crambe, cruciferous biocidal plants and some leguminous species.
The main research areas are:
Yield quality and stability Breeding for resistence to biotic and abiotic stress Non-food crops Agrometerology and agricultural modelling Molecules with dietic effects Biochemistry of myrosinase and glucoinolates Processing and enzyme technologies Molecular markers for the selection and analysis of genetic polymorphism
