Biomass Industry Action Plan 2020 launched

The Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT)  has handed over the Malaysian Biomass Industry Action Plan 2020 to Ambassador and Head of the European Union Delegation to Malaysia Luc Vandebon, to mark the launch of the plan recently.

The plan aims to provide a concerted strategy and action plan in developing local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as key players in driving the Malaysian biomass industry towards realising higher value products from the country’s biomass resources.”

The action plan is the culmination of four years of activities by MIGHT, undertaken jointly with the Biomass-SP (European Union-Malaysia Biomass Sustainable Production Initiative), a project funded by the EU SWITCH-Asia programme between March 2010 and October 2013. It also highlights positioning Malaysia as the regional focal point for biomass trading, logistics, technology, engineering, equipment, standards development, investment and finance.

EUBIA is a project partner in the Biomass-SP project and EUBIA Secretary General Mr Giuliano Grassi attended the meeting in Kuala Lampur when the Action Plan was presented.
