However, the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) could take a longer time than expected in its development as its rapporteur, Adam Gierek (S&amp;D),\u00a0resigned\u00a0due to a lack of support from his colleagues. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The EED was presented by the European Commission on 30 November 2016, as part of\u00a0 Clean Energy Package, and will be voted by the MEPs during the Strasbourg plenary session later this month (January 2018).
