The 2017 edition of Biogaz Europe will be held in Rennes, from 25-26 January, for the first time organised alongside France’s largest event for water and water treatment, the Carrefour des Gestions Locales de l’Eau.

Rennes 2017 thus offers an unprecedented and most complete rendez-vous for the rising french biogas sector with a double appeal to both the agricultural and water treatment sectors!

Appealing to agricultureBiogaz

Rennes is a recognised strategic hub for the French agricultural sector and is the capital of the Bretagne region. It also lies at the heart of western France, the most promising area for biogas comprising:

  • 118 biogas units in operation
  • more than a third of French agricultural and territorial projects, in operation or under development
  • half of the French cattle and pig rearing sectors
  • one third of the French agro-industrial sector in terms of employees and turnover

For the first time, Biogaz Europe will be coupled with and organised alongside France’s largest event for water and water treatment, the Carrefour des Gestions Locales de l’Eau. The complimentarity lies in the natural links between technologies and actors of the water treatment and biogas sectors. Additionally, since 2014, biomethane injection from WWTP’s is authorised in France, and supported through a dedicated feed-in tariff). About 100 WWTP’s are already equipped with digesters, and several innovative projects are ongoing but half of the potential still remains to be exploited, i.e. about 1 TWh/year.

Looking ahead to Biogaz Europe 2017, we fully anticipate:

  • 200+ international exhibitors and represented companies
  • 7-8 000 professional visitors expected: farmers, agro-alimentary professionals, water treatment professionals, energy professionals, local authorities and policy makers, project developers etc.
  • a rich program including conferences, study tours, international business meetings, the innovation competition

Don’t miss the reference event for biogas !
