EUBIA in the EU and Worldwide
The European Biomass Industry Association (EUBIA) plays a significant role in international cooperation in the bioenergy sector. Here are some key aspects of EUBIA's international cooperation efforts:
Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP)
EUBIA is founding member of the Global Bioenergy Partnership launched at the 14th session of the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD- 14) in New York on 11 May 2006, which aims to facilitate high-level national and international dialogue on policy frameworks for investment and technology transfer in the bioenergy field. This partnership includes countries like Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, China, Russia, the UK, and the USA, along with organizations such as the FAO, IEA, and UN Foundation. Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP)
Framework Agreements
EUBIA signed several Framework Agreement to enhance scientific, technical, and industrial cooperation for promoting energy-efficient technologies and systems for biomass energy conversion. These agreements facilitate information exchange and networking in sciences, engineering, and business through technological transfer.
World Network on Bioenergy
EUBIA established a World Network on Bioenergy to address the utilization of biomass residues and energy crops. This network aims to develop modern bioenergy complexes for remote rural villages based on agroforestry residues and dedicated biomass crops.
Promotion of R&D
EUBIA actively promotes research and development in biomass technologies, fostering international cooperation for the use of biomass in energy and industrial applications78.
